This week I contiuned on working on my weblog / website on my topic of Urban clothing. I got the information and pictures I needed and tried to put it together. This some times was very tricky to get things to go where i wanted them to go and trying to get other objects on aswell.

What areas did I find difficult?

Well im finding that alot of things are difficult when using weblog. Where should I start?

Well….  Not being able to put audio, or videos on my weblog is not very usfull when trying to make a website.

Also getting images to go where you want them to go and the information is very annoying and is proving challenging and is taking ages to fix.

What did I learn?

I learn’t that weblog is not a very good blog if you want to put MOST types of media on it.

What do I need to know?

 I need to know why weblog wont let me put media on my blog.

Where am I going to find the information?

I really dont know for a change, ask Mr Carey? I dont even think you know

This week we continued on our our own assignments for IT. So I continued working on my own website which i was having trouble with because when i subscribed to the free web site it wouldnt work. So I decided to make my own wiki instead. I used my wordpress page that we have been using to do our blogs with. I also did research on my topic on urban life style aswell.

What areas did I find difficult?

Like i said before I found trying to find a web site that was easy to use was challenging and also trying to subscribe to them.

What did I learn?

I learnt that web sites can be hard to make, so its good to have wikis that can do the same thing but its alot easier than an actual web site

What do I need to know?

I need to know what other brands im going to do in my wiki.

Where am I going to find the information?

By doing more research on type of brands suitable for my topic.

This week I finished off my pod cast interview assignment. Instead of using the voices from the internet as I planned, i decided to get voices of other people in the class. Only because audacity wouldn’t let me put the voices on for unknown reasons. Also I started to plan for my next & last assignment which we can do what ever we want. I am planning to make my own website / wiki on urban clothing.

I will be adding photos, pictures, vidoes, blogs and lots more.

What areas did I find difficult?

I was still finding putting voices from the internet on audacity challenging, so I just decided to get people in the class to record their voices for me instead.

What did I learn?

I learnt about what I was going to do for my next assignment, which is make a web site on a topic that I like. I also learnt never to tust a cheap version of audacity.

What do I need to know?

I need to know what web site im going to use to make my own web site, and also learn how to fix it and change it to how I want it.

Where am I going to find the information?

By looking at the information the web site says or just finding out what to do as i go along.

What I did this week

This week I started to record my interview for my pod cast. I also finished my script but made changes later on. I also looked for sound effects for the interview and i found a web site that could translate text into an actual voice

What did I find difficult?

I found finding the right sound effects I wanted was ticky and also getting the voice clips to work on audacity was VERY challenging!!!

What did I learn?

I learnt that audacity can be very annoying when you are trying to put lots of voice clips on it. Also I learnt that i would have to use other people in the class’s voices, instead of the text voice audio.

What do I need to know?

I need to know how to get audacity to work when putting alot of voice clips on them.

This week we didn’t have many lessons except for a double on Monday. We worked on the drafts of our script as we were separated from eachother so that we could get on with our work. Then we started working on our good copy.

What areas did I find difficult?

I found that understanding what to do for the script was a bit difficult but now I do have a better  understanding of what I have to do.

What did I learn?

I learn’t how to do my script and what im going to do for it.

What do I need to know?

I need to know how i am going to set out the good copy and what sound effects and voice im going to put in. Also I need to know how long it will be and make sure its more than 2 mins.

Where am I going to find the information?

By looking on Bp Wiki. It will show me how to do a good copy and how i should set it out properly.

This week or mainly last week we started working on our example scripts for our podcasts which would help us on our pod cast assignment. Also we worked on Audacity and finished doing our examples of audio.

What did I find difficult?

The things that I thought were difficult was understanding how to do some of the script because some of it was hard to understand.

What did I learn?

I learnt how to do my script with the help of the example that you (Mr Carey) gave us which helped give an idea on what to do, even though some of it was hard to understand.

What do I need to know?

I need to know how I am going to do my podcast for the assignment.

Where am I going to find the information?

By looking on pbwiki and finding out what to do for the assignment from the information on there.

This week we began on the new topic of podcasts.  We were each given a head set so that we could record our voices in the pod cast. We used a program called Audacity which allowed us to edit and set the audio where we wanted it to be. We used a mix of songs, recorded voices and sound affects so that we could produce our own podcast.

What areas did I find Difficult?

I found that putting the audio where I wanted it to go was hard because some times it would’nt work which was very annoying.

What did I learn?

I learnt how to use Audacity because I had never used a program like that before, and it taught me how to edit and make podcasts.

What do I need to know?

I need to know more about the assignment on podcasts that we are about to do.

Where am I going to find the information?

By looking on pb wiki and looking at the information on there.

This week I wasn’t here for Mondays lesson because of the athletics carnival so im not quite sure what happened on Mondays lesson. For the remainder of the week we have been working on our social networking assignment on power point by covering the areas that we have to. We’ve been mainly getting pictures to put on there and giving them affects.

What areas did I find dificult?

I found that trying to find relevent pictures to go with my slide show was some times challenging and also getting the affects I wanted into the correct order.

What did I learn?

I learn’t about the few different types of social networking that are out there and a few that I didnt know existed. Also about some of the affect tools on power point that I didn’t know about.

What do I need to know?

I need to know more about why social networking would be useful at school and the problems with it if it were to happen.

Where am I going to find the information?

By looking up more about on the internet or asking a class mate for some ideas.

This week we started looking more into a thing called slide share. We registered to slide share and then we were given a task to look for examples of a good  power point and a bad one. I couldn’t find a power point on slide share because it blocked me from seeing most of them so I went onto google to find some instead. I found a bad one first, it was about sprint training. It had to much information on all of slides and it didn’t have many relative pictures to go with it. The second one I found turned out to be a good one. It was on gaming consoles and which one was the most popular. This was a really good power point because it had relative pictures, graphs, not to much information but enough to tell you what you need to know, effects and it looked very well made which made it stand out.

What areas did I find difficult?

Trying to find power points that could work on slide share was difficult because the computer was always blocking you from veiwing them. Also trying to find an example of a good blog on the web was also a bit tricky, but I managed to find one in the end.

What did I learn?

I learn’t about what is needed to make a good power point and also what a bad power point looks like. With a good power point you should never have alot of information on one page or it becomes to hard to read. Also having pictures and graphs makes you power point look better aswell as making it stand out.

What do I need to know?

I need to know more information on the social networking assignment.

Where am I going to find the information?

By doing more research or asking my class mates

This week we continued working on adding information to the class wiki which I was able to complete. Also we were introduced to our social networking assignment where we are using a power point to talk about aspects of social networking then posting it on a web site.

What areas did I find difficult?

 It was annoying waiting to get onto a page while someone else was editing that page. Also it was hard finding information for uses for wikis at school.

What did I learn?

I learnt that you have to be patient when people are editing their wikis and I learn’t more about the uses for wikis at school and also about the next assignment that we have to do.

What do I need to know?

I need to know more about the assignment we are doing.

How am I going to fidn the information?

By looking at the course outline on pbwiki and reading what I have to do then doing it.
